My parents and I have for a long time looked at their old and dusty board in the kitchen. We finally decided to spend a day on redoing it. At first I considered the popular method with strings / rubber bands you put on, that can hold your notes and paperwork . I ended up with fabric instead. Here we selected 4 different color as the board would consist of that would passé with the rest of the decor.
I used : A stapler, Scissors, some Glue and Needles.
Short description: First we used a long time to put the different pieces of fabric up so that we could see the pattern we wanted.
As the fabric had some folds so it was necessary to iron it, this will also make the finished look seem more smooth when you put it up.
Most of the edges is a bit shredded along the sides. To remove this, then we cut of the stings and folded edges straight and then we used the iron again on the folds to get a nice sharp edge. The material is now ready. We could now pull and tightened up the material and stapled it to the back of the board.
Vola, there’s a whole new board for the wall , and I’m actually quite pleased with the result. Now, I just need to do the finishing touches, and find some fitting pins. ( I’ve already found these fun mustache pins on Amazon ) What do you think ?
